What happens after you hand it over
Every piece is inspected at the counter before it is tagged. We look for stains, missing buttons, split seams, and anything already worn thin, and we tell you then — not after — if something is unlikely to come out or is going to need a repair alongside the cleaning.
Garments are then sorted by color, fabric, and how much agitation they can take. That sorting is the part that gets skipped when volume is high and the work is done off-site, and it is the reason a white blouse comes back grey. Pre-treatment happens by hand, stain by stain, chosen for what caused the mark rather than applied from one bottle to everything.
After cleaning, each piece is pressed by hand. Collars, lapels, pleats, and cuffs are shaped rather than flattened, which is the difference between a suit that looks cleaned and one that looks pressed.
What we clean
Suits and sport coats, trousers, dresses, skirts, blouses, overcoats, blazers, ties, scarves, and evening wear. Beaded and sequined pieces, silk, cashmere, and anything structured or lined belong here rather than in a washing machine.
Household items too: curtains, table linens, comforters, and down. Those take longer and are quoted at the counter, because weight and fill matter more than size.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is two to three days. Same-day service is available on most garments if you drop off in the morning — call ahead at (212) 289-9874 so we can tell you honestly whether your piece will make the cut, rather than promising and disappointing you.
Heavily soiled items, anything needing tailoring, and gowns take longer, and we will give you a real date at drop-off.

No. Our dry cleaning machine is on the premises at 1287 Madison Avenue and is approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Your clothes stay in the building.

Can you get out a stain that has already set?
Often, yes, but it depends on what caused it and what has already been done to it. Bring it in without attempting a home remedy first — rubbing and heat are what turn a removable stain into a permanent one.
